Elementary Parents, our K-6 Celebration of Learning is on Thursday, May 16 from 5:15 – 7:15 pm
Please note that these are school hours for your children; students and families are expected to actively participate
in this classroom instructional and curriculum learning time.
Each year parents, grandparents, supporters and visitors are invited to Celebration of Learning at Vernon Christian School. When you walk through the door on May 16 you will be met with an opportunity to hear from students and to see learning at VCS in real time! Our deep hope for this evening is for parents and guests to experience children engaged in transformational learning who desire an active role in God’s story.
Join us at the Elementary Campus from 5:15-7:15 pm on Thursday, May 16.
- No School for EC students during the day – their school day starts at 5:15 pm (SC students have regular classes)
- Your child’s teacher will be emailing parents with a more specific classroom schedule. Each child will have specific classroom responsibilities for a portion of the evening. For the remaining time, they are encouraged to participate with their parents in other classroom activities throughout the campus.
- Our students are excited to share! We ask parents to be intentional in asking questions about the learning they see in our classrooms. This helps our students to develop valuable skills, empowering them to be confident as they demonstrate their understanding of what they are learning.
- NEW THIS YEAR Check out our market in the gym! Our grade 5 and 6’s will be selling items in the market they will have set up. All money raised will go to support individual fundraisers chosen by the students. Stop by each booth to read more on the student’s chosen fundraiser. PLEASE bring cash for the market (no debit machine available)
- Kids Zone (ages 3&4) – Please sign in/out of the grade 5 classroom. If your children are not in the Kids Zone please have them stay with you during the event as we are unable to offer supervision.
- The Finale – We will all meet in the Gym at 7:00 pm for an extra special family event to close the evening. This will be led by Mr. Vermeulen.
- Celebration of Learning Brochure – Grab a brochure when you enter so you can check out all the amazing areas.
- PIA Gift Baskets will be available to view and enter to win. Tickets can be purchased during the evening. Interac is available for gift basket tickets, please save your cash for the Grades 5 & 6 student markets.
This is an important evening for your child and your family to attend as this is considered school work and it’s a great time to get together and celebrate our learning and who we are as a school community!
